An important characteristic of our IGCC complex is its multi-train design which allows high reliability and the possibility of distributing routine maintenance for each train in different moments, with an average yearly service factor consistently above 90%.

Power production is close to 4.5 terawatthours per year and the input is about 1.15 million tons per year, almost entirely constituted of heavy residues from the refining process (gasoil is used in minimal quantities during startup/shutdown operations).

As mentioned, the only other output from the IGCC complex are steam, hydrogen (both used in the refinery), sulphur and metals (both sold to other industries).
Among other advantages, the ICGG plant substantially reduces the overall emission of pollutants, mitigating the environmental impact of the industrial activities of the Sarroch site. Notably, the ability to cogenerate steam and hydrogen, taking advantage of the efficiency and size of the IGCC plant, has resulted in a significant improvement for the whole industrial site compared to the units traditionally used at refineries for the same purpose.
