Refinery production

The production of middle distillates increased percentage-wise from 51.7% in 2007 to 53.3% in 2008, with an increase in terms of absolute quantities equal to 730 thousand tons. This increase in percentage terms took place to detriment of the production of light distillates, such as naphtha and gasoline, which decreased percentage-wise from 27.7% to 26.1%, whilst the mix of raw materials used for the feedstock of the refinery remained substantially unchanged: average density of the crude mix went from 32.9 °API in 2007, to 32.7 °API in 2008.
